Welcome to our website’s section on osteoporosis, a condition that affects millions of people worldwide. Osteoporosis is a bone disease that causes bones to become weak and brittle, making them more prone to fractures. My first broken bone occurred a year before at the age of 58, and when I was diagnosed with osteoporosis at 59, I never imagined I would have one of the worst cases of osteoporosis my doctor had seen. “The osteoporosis in your arms is the worst I have ever seen,” he said. It and it was a wake-up call. A fracture could significantly alter my life, and as someone with MS, it was especially concerning, as frequent falls could be a risk. So, I started researching possible causes and treatments, and in this section, I aim to share valuable information about osteoporosis, including its causes, risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, and management. I will also provide tips on how to maintain bone health, prevent osteoporosis, and even reverse some of the damage, along with resources for support and further education. Join me as we explore this important topic and learn how to take control of our bone health.
